Good day to you.
I just want to say a few things. Your attention please. I would be prepared to act as an official envoy for any messages you wish to convey to another nation. I could act as a mediator or one who moderates a dispute. An additional feature would be if one nation wanted an audit trail when perhaps a dispute becomes too heated and some are lying while others are telling the truth. If, for example, Russia was to send a message to France, they would simply put in the subject line, please forward to France. I would not view the message, unless an audit was needed and both parties asked me to, in order to settle any issue. I would never at any time compromise the integrity of the League of Nations, here at Diplomacy Central. Another example, is if say Lisa wanted to get a message to say, Austria but did not want to reveal her real identity. The message could be forwarded through chankslee@gmail.com
The last note, is just a reminder that the Fall 1901 moves are due, Pacific Time (GMT- 08:00)no later than 1 second before midnight on Friday. Austria, please do not lag behind this time. The sooner your moves are in, the quicker the results will be posted.

No, I will not shut up.
I am forced every day to give up part of the money I earn through the work I do. My government takes this money from me and uses it to buy weapons with which to kill people. The only recourse I have is to complain about it, and I'm very angry. Hopefully, I can manage to convince enough people that war is a fruitless effort that perhaps they'll stop pursuing it, so I have to try.
It's not Bush I hate, it's war in general, and all those that enjoy causing it to happen. Bush does seem to fall into this category, yes, but is not the only one by any means.
Canada is pouring money into sending bombs and guns to Afghanistan, allegedly the place where "Al Qaeda" is. What evidence do I have that Al Qaeda really caused the attacks on the Trade Centres? How many innocent Afghanistan civilians are being killed by my military in the process of trying to stop "Al Qaeda"? Weren't the members of Al Qaeda originally trained by the CIA? There are too many other questions to ask here. Meantime, my money is getting taken from me without any consent on my part to buy guns and bombs to send around the world and kill people. Thanks a lot Canada. As far as nations go, you're one of the better ones, but that's not saying much, and you're still a pretty horrible entity, even though a lot of your citizens are absolutely wonderful people.
Psam,
please visit www.chankslee.blogspot.com
your views on war and other topics are very welcome there.
I agree with the Colonel this time. I don't know if Woodrowe is right about this one. Jorgen seems pretty angry though.

Dearest Psam,
you have managed to convince us to be peace loving by brainwashing us with your constant drivel. So please move onto greener pastures. You could always take more forceful action against the government by practicing tax evasion. Icould then wait in hope that they would lock you up attaching duct tape to your mouth and saving our ears from your constant complaining. Words need actions and I don't see any from you. Maybe you should try walking down Robson Street naked to prove you are peaceful and aren't hiding weapons, other then the one....well you know.....
I have to defend our beloved Psam. He has posted on a political parties web site, and has a blog there.... you guessed it...

i do feel as though he is taking my brain out and putting on spin cycle after washing it tho
some guy
have you checked out the essential links and clicked on ALL of them?
surprised?

There are two actions that are most effective at accomplishing these goals. One is to persuade people to use their democratic voting power to force their government to stop taking warlike actions. The other is to put forth arguments that convince other citizens not to join the military and make weapons out of themselves. Both of these involve talk. That is all I can do, and that is all anyone can expect.
Canadians are killing people with their tax dollars, taken by a warlike government. Do you believe killing people is something you can be happy to support without any sort of reservations?
some guy, I am sorry about continuing this discussion here instead of in the other forum you suggested, but I was spoken to here, so I replied here. I shall take your advice and make further comments there.
Adolf,
Definately no sugar in your coffee that's for sure. I find it interesting that your would pick a war at the roll of a dice as you so put it. Bit of a gambler are you? Your comment on being "an honest person" I find to be somewhat untruthful, one is never HONEST with the enemy otherwise they wouldn't be enemies.
As to parting shot of sending your regards to my family you are adding insult to insult as most of my family lost their heads with Madame Guillotine during the reign of terror
Is the Taliban the same thing as the Al Qaeda? Psam as far as I know canada is in Afghanistan by invitation to fight the taliban.
bench
What the Taliban is doing to the Afhanistan people has a lot in common with the way the Canadian government treated the natives here during the inception of the nation.
I have a lot of respect for well-intentioned military personnel who believe that they want to stop the murderous, cruel actions of the Taliban. However, I am certain that there will be more harm done during the crossfire than there will be good done by trying to quash the Taliban. If you want evidence of this, look at the bang up job the US has done in Iraq. They removed a dictator from power, and in his place is a country torn by an even more devastating civil war than there was originally before they went in there.
If you want to bring human rights to Afghanistan, the FIRST thing you should be doing is making sure that the person who is in charge of the military forces that are sent there is someone who has lived there, knows of the cultural conflicts there, and has family there. If you can't even do that, then it's pretty hard to put forth a convincing argument that you have any idea how to send a bunch of guns, bombs, and tanks over and actually do any good.
Everyone wanted me to shut up bench, and now look what you've done. Stop trying to justify war. It doesn't suit a man who claims to bow down to the prince of peace.
Psam
I respect your views on peace, but I dont think your reaoning is logical. In one sentence you dont support paying taxes that buy guns and bombs to kill people. Later you say that you have respect for Military leaders in Afganistan that are trying to better their country. Do you support buying guns and training canadian police to fight crime in our own country. I would like to know your views on local violence and police. Do your views on global violence differ from Local Violene. Do you support a UN sanctioned presence of Canada in Afganistan. Should Canada or US retaliate if they are attacked by another country.
I am not saying that I support the war and agree that Bush is out of line, but I ask you where do you draw the line on peace. How many times to you forgive without retaliation. How do you stand by idle while others in this great world are being persacuted for their beleifs, religions, or race.
Do you think that Canada should protect itself and take up arms if we ourselves are invaded by an enemy force. Should we intervene when another country is under attack.
If you are a true peace beleiver, and dont beleive in Killing of any sort, then we should abolish out police force, burn all the guns in Canada, bring home all our peace keepers around the world, and remove our borders.
I dont beleive you think this is the answer, but you must realise that anything good worth having is worth fighting for.
I wish we could have peace also, but I support the process the UN takes, but think they are a little lax with their policies.
Please respond,
GT
Psam
Your first comment could you please enlighten me.
How is the Taleban similar to the early Cdn gov't in respect to natives? What IS the Taleban doing to the Afghan people. I don't really know.
The difference I see in Afghan compared to iraq is one action was considered illegal in the eyes of the world while the Afghan situation is sanctioned by the UN. What that means is things are done the way the UN proposes. Isn't that different?
If you want to look at recent history to comapare to this war, you should probably choose to look at previous invasions on Afghanistan. You will find that the Soviet Union, in all its power before the fall, waged a war for 10 years against them. I feel you would be wrong to compare it directly to iraq because it is a different situation.
If the UN is running the show in Afghanistan, and being that the UN is an international oraganization couldn't you say that the UN has lived in afghanstan? Why would you say a general has to have lived in a place to be a good leader. A good leader would make sure they had intelligence of many factors. For example logistics, how to get tasks done in the best possible way. People skills. Belief in themselves. A general couldn't have been a psycologist for a time, lived in a country that was going to be attacked for a time, a business person for a time, a gun expert, a pilot, an engineer... the list goes on. A general simply surrounds him/herself with the best intellegence possible.
One of the best generals in the history of the world, The Duke of Wellington, fought in India and France, while leading his English forces. He wasn't Indian or French. He was proud to be from Great Britain.
Last. I don't see where Bench says he supports the war in either Afghanistan or Iraq. Please do not make assumptions. He has simply asked a question. I feel he has been belittled a little bit for that. I think I can say for everyone on this site that there is not one person here who supports killing. I think though, that an individual should not be persecuted for supporting the government, the young men and women who serve it, or the way it goes about practicing diplomacy. You option is to vote.
One other note. Submit your moves before you respond to this debate please.
Long live France in her glorious fight against Berlin. Woodrowe, you are ignorant. Colonel Jorgen, you rock. Google is tops. You are all to be THUNDERED this fall and I am DONE!!!!!
